Age at menarche and reproductive pattern among Saudi women

J R Soc Health. 1988 Jun;108(3):94-6. doi: 10.1177/146642408810800308.

Abstract

PIP: A study on age at menarche and reproductive history in Saudi Arabia is presented. The data are from a cancer survey conducted in Riyadh in 1986 among 2,675 women aged 14-59. The results show a decline in mean age at menarche by 0.4 years in women born during the past 20 years as compared with women born 45 years ago. They do not support the hypothesis that higher fertility is associated with early menarche.
