It can lead to significant disability or cause complications that may result in severe morbidity. In such patients, treatment of spasticity is warranted. Several oral and parenteral medications are available for use in the treatment of spasticity. This article reviews the pharmacological properties and therapeutic effectiveness of these medications to provide a practical objective guide for physicians who may be involved in the management of spasticity.
