Computed tomography of the abdomen showed an 8 x 7 cm retroperitoneal mass located at the aortic bifurcation. The patient had exploratory laparotomy and complete excision of the mass. The histopathological study showed a paraganglioma. The patient had an uneventful postoperative period and follow up.
