The following is a list of our most frequently asked questions. Should you not find the answer to your question, please send your question to COMMENTS.

  1. Why the system does not accept my abstract and gives me a message that it has exceeded the maximum limit even if the words were less than 220?

    Answer
    The system sets a word count limit for abstracts of each section:

    a. Original article abstract should not exceed 250 words. Please note that paragraphs pasted in the abstract section should be single spaced and not double spaced as spaces also count.

    b. Case Reports and Review abstract should not exceed 150 words. Please note that paragraphs pasted in the abstract section should be single spaced and not double spaced as spaces also count.

  2. Where do i upload other documents, figures, ethical approval, authorship, and consent?

    Answer
    All other documents other than the main article should be uploaded as "Supplementary Files"

    Step 4 of the submission process. Please note that this optional step allows supplementary files to be added to a submission. The files which can be in any format (MS Word, PDF, JPEG) might include (a) research instruments, (b) data sets, (c) raw data, (d) sources that otherwise would be unavailable to readers, (d) figures and tables that CANNOT be integrated into the text itself, or other materials that add to the contribution of the work.

  3. Where is the information about omitting the authorís names and affiliations in the manuscript?

    Answer
    To ensure double blind, authors should omit the names and affiliation in the main document. Please note that information about the contributors should be provided separately as a supplementary file.

  4. What is archived?
    Answer
    Archived is a repository or collection especially for manuscripts which are:
    a. On hold due to missing requirements
    b. Unsuitable from Initial Screening
    c. Rejected after peer review
    d. Published
  5. After I have registered and login where do I find the option to submit?

    Answer
    It takes 24 hours to activate and validate your account. After you have been enrolled on a specific role (author) you will be able to access the system.

  6. Does my article require Ethical Approval?

    Answer
    All manuscripts reporting the results of experimental investigations involving human subjects should include a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from each subject or subjectís guardian after receiving approval of the experimental protocol by a local human ethics committee or institutional review board. When reporting experiments on animals authors should indicate whether the institutional and national guide for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed. Research papers not involving human or animal studies should also include statement that approval/no objection for the study protocol was obtained from institutional review board or research ethics committee. If you think that ethical approval is not necessary for your paper, please submit a letter of no objection from the appropriate authorizing body of your institute allowing you to conduct this type of research or confirming that ethics approval was not needed. Ethical Approval should be written in the official headed paper of the Ethics Committee signed by the Chairman and stamped for authenticity.

  7. Do I need to provide arabic translation during first submission?

    Answer
    Arabic abstract is mandatory for revised versions. If it can be made available during first submission is most welcome but can be provided later during revision. (For Non-Arabs, author has to state in the cover letter unable to provide translation)

  8. Does the journal charge for publication fees?

    Answer
    YES. The journal charge for submission, processing, and printing fees. Please check the online payment section and instructions to authors.

  9. Where is the editorial office?

    Answer
    The editorial office is at Building 57, 11th Floor, Prince Sultan Military Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
