Studies report a prevalence of 0.8–2.8% in the European population, (Grover et al., 1985; Kramer et al., 1970) and 5.1% in the Turkish population (Celikogluet al., 2010). The incidence of impacted maxillary canines was reported to be 1.7% (Ericson et al., 1986) and 0.92% (Dachi et al., 1961).
