This book provides a good tool for medical students. It enable students to grasp the basic principles of clinical surgery. This book covers common surgical specialties with the most commonly encountered scenarios in their future career. Each chapter was presented in a systematic way, and was configured with starter questions, cases scenario, core sciences, history, examination and investigation, which will surely hold the interest and attention of medical students. It is also well supplemented with radiological images, photos, figures and tables that facilitate understanding the information intended to be delivered.

In this book, the information provided is precise and to the point, it gives a quick boost in basic science; anatomy, history and physical examination, and diagnostic modalities.

I am sure that this book will come in very handy for interns during their on-call duties, whenever they need to look for a quick overview on cases they encounter.

The last chapter, which is the self-assessment, contains a wide spectrum of multiple choice questions that are well-structured and very informative. The printing and design of this book was well-organized, with good utilization of colors and highlights. The language is polished, easy to understand, well written with no complicated grammar.

This book is of great value and an excellent addition to the reference shelves of medical students who are willing to become surgeons. It is also very convenient and beneficial for interns, and even to general practitioners.
