Eureka is a relatively recent textbook series that is specially designed for modern-day medical students throughout their years of study. Cardiovascular medicine book provides medical students with guidance, companionship, essential content, and clarity of concept. The book contains 14 chapters of which the first 2 chapters are dedicated to basic sciences and clinical principles in cardiovascular medicine. The following chapters cover most of the cardiovascular diseases, which includes coronary and valvular heart diseases, myocardial and pericardial diseases, arrhythmias and heart failure in addition to congenital heart diseases. Furthermore, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease as well as inherited cardiac conditions has been covered. Each chapter starts with useful questions followed by a case scenario and end with comprehensive answers to all questions. The last 2 chapters are about cardiac emergencies and self-assessment multiple choice question with answers covers all chapters of the book. The author’s teaching ability is evident in each chapter. For most part, the chapters are very authoritative. However, some parts concerning more controversial areas. There is also considerable variability of the amount of details in each chapter. This book covers most of the essential cardiovascular knowledge that a medical student needs during their undergraduate period. The editors and authors have succeeded in translating basic knowledge into helpful tips and tricks for addressing the challenges that are faced in daily clinical practice. They have achieved this goal by using numerous illustrations and images. It is an attractive book that is easy to read, with clean typeface and sections that clearly demarcated. However, readers are cautioned that this is not a textbook of pathophysiologic principles and therapeutics.

Finally, the production value of this book matches the target audience and it would be of considerable value to medical students.
